During the Istanbul-Siirt flight operated by Turkish Airlines, flight TK 2656 with tail registration TC-JLU, an Airbus A319 aircraft, collided with a bird during landing, causing damage to the wing. However, the aircraft landed safely at Siirt Airport.
While ensuring the safe evacuation of passengers, the incident was reported, and the technical team was tasked with inspecting the aircraft.
However, the Siirt-Istanbul flight scheduled for 11:30 a.m. was postponed. It was stated that a technical inspection was necessary to assess the potential damage caused by the bird strike to the aircraft’s wing.
Following the technical inspection, it was learned that the damage to the aircraft could be repaired, and the next flight would take place as scheduled.
