2023 Data: Passenger and Aircraft Traffic
Minister Uraloğlu also shared the aircraft, passenger, and cargo traffic data for Trabzon Airport for the year 2023. Accordingly, in 2023, there were 18,987 domestic and 7,768 international flights, totaling 26,755 flights. The passenger traffic served 2,696,068 domestic and 839,834 international passengers, totaling 3,535,902 passengers. During the same period, cargo traffic reached 23,028 tons domestically and 14,330 tons internationally, totaling 37,358 tons.
June 2024 Data: Continuing Growth
In June 2024, the number of aircraft landings and take-offs at Trabzon Airport reached 1,705 domestically and 1,272 internationally, with a total of 2,977 aircraft movements. In June, domestic passenger traffic was recorded at 270,544, and international passenger traffic at 107,619, serving a total of 378,163 passengers. Cargo traffic reached 2,481 tons domestically and 2,091 tons internationally, totaling 4,753 tons.
January-June Period: Steady Growth
During the January-June period, Trabzon Airport served 1,325,622 domestic and 196,551 international passengers, reaching a total passenger count of 1,522,273. Aircraft traffic totaled 11,360, with 8,902 domestic and 2,458 international flights. Cargo traffic was recorded at 10,400 tons domestically and 3,763 tons internationally, totaling 14,163 tons.
Minister Uraloğlu’s Evaluation
Minister Uraloğlu emphasized the significant increase in passenger and cargo traffic at Trabzon Airport, noting that the airport’s capacity is expanding every day and this trend will continue. Uraloğlu stated, “We served over 1.5 million passengers in the first half of the year. This demonstrates the importance of Trabzon Airport as a major transportation hub. Our goal is to further increase these figures.”
Trabzon Airport continues to be one of the most important transportation centers in the region with its increasing passenger and cargo traffic. The Ministry is working to enhance the airport’s capacity and maximize passenger satisfaction.
