New Flight from Europe to Istanbul by Wizz Air: Dates and Times Confirmed - Global Hub Strength of Istanbul Airport: Flights to 117 Countries

Wizz Air will launch Debrecen–Istanbul flights as of July 2026. In addition, the start date of Spain flights departing from Venice has been brought forward to July.

Wizz Air Opens Debrecen–Istanbul Route

Wizz Air, one of Europe’s low-cost airlines, has updated its flight plans for the 2026 summer season. The airline plans to start operations on the Debrecen–Istanbul route as of July 2026.

It was reported that reservations were opened for sale as of the end of March 2026. The new route is expected to operate with two frequencies per week.

Flights to be Operated with A320 Aircraft

It was announced that the flights in question will be operated by Airbus A320ceo aircraft within Wizz Air Malta under W6 flight codes.

The planned flight schedule is as follows:

  • W62591: Debrecen 18:15 – Istanbul 21:25
  • W62592: Istanbul 16:40 – Debrecen 17:40

Spain Flights from Venice Brought Forward

Wizz Air also announced, through a notification made to its flight planning systems GDS and OAG, that it has brought forward the start dates of its Spain routes departing from Venice Marco Polo Airport.

The flights, which were previously planned to start in September 2026, have been moved to July 2026.

New Operational Plan on Spain Routes

According to the updated schedule, the flights are planned as follows:

  • Venice – Alicante: 3 times per week starting from 02 July 2026
  • Venice – Bilbao: 4 times per week starting from 01 July 2026
  • Venice – Malaga: 4 times per week starting from 01 July 2026
  • Venice – Seville: 3 times per week starting from 02 July 2026

It was stated that all these flights will be operated with Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Alghero Route Also in Summer Schedule

It was also announced that the Venice – Alghero route, previously announced by Wizz Air, will be launched in the summer season. Accordingly, the route will be:

  • Between 01 July – 04 September 2026
  • With 3 frequencies per week
  • Operated by A321neo aircraft

All Flights Operated by Wizz Air Malta

It was reported in the aviation news that all Venice-origin flights will be operated by Wizz Air Malta under W4 flight codes.
