Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu announced that a large-scale aviation facility will be established in Kahramanmaraş. The new centre is planned to have a capacity similar to the production base in Kahramankazan, Ankara.
TUSAŞ General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu shared important information regarding the new aviation investment to be implemented in Kahramanmaraş. Within the scope of the project, a facility similar in scale to TUSAŞ’s main production centre in Ankara will be constructed.
The new facility will be established in Kahramanmaraş. The investment is expected to make a significant contribution to the region’s industrial infrastructure and employment.
Following the completion of infrastructure works, the facility is planned to be commissioned gradually. In the first phase, assembly and component production activities will begin.
According to Demiroğlu’s statement, the process will proceed in stages:
- In the first phase, assembly and component production
- In the following years, the activation of final assembly lines
- In the long term, transition to a fully comprehensive production and service centre structure
The facility is aimed to become not merely a centre producing parts, but an integrated aviation base where aircraft assembly is carried out and maintenance-service operations are provided.
The new facility, considered one of the important steps towards increasing Türkiye’s production capacity in the defence and aviation industry, is expected to both contribute to domestic and national projects and accelerate regional development.
