The Ministry of National Defence (MoD) announced that, within the scope of the Eurofighter Typhoon procurement project, a visit will be carried out to RAF Coningsby Air Base in the United Kingdom between 24–27 February for the initial training phase of personnel. The President of Airbus Europe also held meetings in Türkiye.
The Ministry of National Defence (MoD) announced that, as part of the Eurofighter Typhoon procurement project, a working visit will be conducted to RAF Coningsby Air Base in the United Kingdom between 24–27 February regarding the initial training process for flight and ground personnel.
The statement was made during the weekly press briefing by Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, Press and Public Relations Advisor of the Ministry and Ministry Spokesperson.
Rear Admiral Aktürk stated that the process for the initial training of personnel under the Eurofighter Typhoon procurement project will be launched, noting that the visit aims to coordinate the training infrastructure for flight and technical personnel.
Weekly briefing at MEBS School
The briefing meeting was held within the Communications Electronics and Information Systems School and Training Center Command (MEBS). Aktürk emphasised that procurement and training processes are continuing in line with the planned schedule.
It is assessed that training activities during the process of incorporating the Eurofighter Typhoon into the inventory are of critical importance for the effective and safe operation of the platform.
Airbus Europe President in Türkiye
High-level contacts on the defence industry agenda
The meeting also included information regarding contacts in the field of the defence industry. It was announced that the President of Airbus Europe and the accompanying delegation paid a visit to Türkiye between 17–19 February.
The delegation was received by Deputy Ministers Musa Heybet and Salih Ayhan. It is understood that cooperation topics in the fields of defence and aviation were discussed during the meetings.

Weapons and ammunition delivery from MKE
Meanwhile, Aktürk announced that the delivery of various quantities and calibres of weapons and ammunition by the Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) has been completed.
These developments indicate that, within the scope of Türkiye’s defence modernisation and procurement projects, both training and logistical processes are being carried out simultaneously.
Strategic preparation process accelerates
The training process launched under the Eurofighter Typhoon procurement project has marked an important stage in operational preparation for the potential induction of the platform into the inventory. The working visit to be held in the United Kingdom will play a critical role in personnel training planning and the technical infrastructure adaptation process.
