Six memorandums of understanding were signed between Türkiye and Belgium in the field of defense industry. FNSS, TUSAŞ, ASELSAN and SAHA Istanbul drew attention.
Cooperation between Türkiye and Belgium in the defense industry gained further strength with new agreements. During the ceremony held as part of the Belgian Economic Mission’s visit to Türkiye, a total of six memorandums of understanding were signed between Turkish and Belgian companies. The agreements paved the way for joint projects in defense technologies, aviation innovation, armored vehicle systems and engineering.
Partnership in Defense and Aviation Between SAHA Istanbul and Agoria BSDI
One of the notable agreements signed during the ceremony was between Türkiye’s defense industry cluster SAHA Istanbul and Belgium-based Agoria BSDI. The parties reached an understanding to carry out joint work aimed at advancing defense and aviation innovation.
Under the signed agreement, the two institutions aim to cooperate in research and development activities, technological knowledge sharing and business practices. In addition, a stronger network between the defense industry ecosystems of the two countries is planned to be established.

FNSS and John Cockerill Defense to Join Forces for New Markets
A strategic memorandum of understanding was also signed between FNSS, one of the leading land vehicle manufacturers of the Turkish defense industry, and Belgium’s John Cockerill Defense SA.
Within the scope of the agreement, the companies aim not only to enhance cooperation in existing markets but also to develop joint opportunities in new international markets. The two firms once again emphasized their shared determination to provide high-performance and modern armored vehicle solutions to customers worldwide.

New Collaborations from TUSAŞ, ASELSAN and Other Companies
During the ceremony, important agreements were also signed between defense and engineering companies operating in different fields.
The other memorandums of understanding were signed between the following companies:
- BTMco and ABC
- ALTUNA International Engineering and New Lachaussee
- TUSAŞ and SONACA
- ASELSAN and XO Advanced Systems
These agreements are expected to support joint projects in areas such as aviation systems, advanced engineering solutions, defense electronics and production technologies.

A New Era in Türkiye-Belgium Defense Cooperation
Türkiye’s export- and technology-oriented growth in the defense industry in recent years continues to increase the interest of European-based companies in cooperation. The newly signed memorandums of understanding with Belgium also indicate that relations between the two countries in the fields of defense and aviation are being carried to a more strategic level.
