Mehmet Demiroğlu, General Manager of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), which plays a critical role in Türkiye’s national aviation and defence industry projects, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of TUSAŞ Engine Industries Inc. (TEI). The decision was made during TEI’s Ordinary General Assembly Meeting, and the appointment became one of the significant steps marking a new era in Türkiye’s domestic and national aviation engine projects.

In an official statement released by TEI, it was announced that Mehmet Demiroğlu will serve as the chairman of the company’s board of directors in the new term. The leadership change is considered strategically important, particularly for national fighter aircraft engines, helicopter engines, and domestically developed power systems projects for the defence industry.

Strong Career Background in Aviation and Defence Industry

Mehmet Demiroğlu studied mechanical engineering and completed his undergraduate education at Yıldız Technical University. He later completed his master’s and doctoral studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the United States.

Demiroğlu began his career as a project engineer at Advanced Innovative Technologies and later worked as a project manager at Pro/Solutions International. He subsequently served as a design engineer at GE Global Research Center.

Having worked in various engineering and management positions within GE Energy Storage and GE Energy, Demiroğlu founded GRTC in 2012 and assumed the role of general manager.

Drew Attention with Critical Roles at TEI and TUSAŞ

Having held important positions in the defence industry, Mehmet Demiroğlu joined TEI after serving as R&D Director and Deputy General Manager at BMC Power.

At TEI, Demiroğlu held positions including turboshaft programme director and R&D director, before later serving as Head of TUSAŞ Academy and Deputy General Manager responsible for helicopters.
