Turkish Airlines (THY) has signed a memorandum of understanding with TÜRKSAT to provide free and unlimited internet service to passengers on all its aircraft within the next two years, starting from the end of this year.
According to a statement from the THY Press Office, the signing ceremony held at the aviation fair in England was attended by THY Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Ahmet Bolat, THY General Manager Bilal Ekşi, and TÜRKSAT General Manager Hasan Hüseyin Ertok.
As part of the project, THY plans to enhance its existing fleet with the latest in-flight connectivity (IFC) technologies and equip new aircraft with more efficient IFC technologies. This will allow THY to extend the IFC service, currently available on a significant portion of its fleet, to all its aircraft, providing all passengers with unlimited, uninterrupted, and faster IFC service free of charge. THY is also supporting Turkish companies in developing solutions for this connectivity service.
