Turkish Airlines Preserves Increased Flight Frequencies on China Routes in the 2026 Summer Schedule

Turkish Airlines will maintain increased flight frequencies on its Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai routes in the 2026 summer schedule. Shanghai flights will increase to 11 per week.

Turkish Airlines (THY) has announced that it has decided to maintain the increased flight frequencies on its China routes within the scope of the 2026 Summer Schedule. In line with this decision, as of 29 March 2026, flights to Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai will continue with increased numbers of services.

Flight Frequencies in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai to Remain at a High Level

According to the schedule shared by THY, flight planning to China’s three major metropolises will be as follows:

Istanbul – Beijing (Capital):

  • 10 weekly flights (previously 7)
  • B777-300ER / B787-9

Istanbul – Guangzhou:

  • 10 weekly flights (previously 7)
  • B777-300ER / B787-9

Istanbul – Shanghai (Pudong):

  • 10 weekly flights as of 29 March 2026
  • 11 weekly flights as of 11 May 2026
  • B777-300ER / B787-9

Global Transfer Power via Istanbul

With the preservation of increased frequencies, Turkish Airlines aims to strengthen its global transfer strategy centred on Istanbul Airport. Through this flight planning, THY seeks to offer stronger and more flexible connections for passenger and cargo transportation between China and Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

While the increased capacity in the Chinese market stands out as an important part of Turkish Airlines’ growth strategy in the Asia-Pacific region, it also reinforces Istanbul’s position as a global aviation transfer hub.
