In a bid to strengthen its training fleet, Turkish Airlines Flight Academy (TAFA) has purchased two AL172 simulators from the France-based company ALSIM. These FNPT II (EASA) certified simulators are equipped with Garmin G1000 NXI and GFC700 autopilot systems, and they accurately replicate the Cessna 172SP Skyhawk aircraft.
Ibrahim Zeki Akyurt, the General Manager of Turkish Airlines Flight Academy, stated, “Aiming to train professional pilots to meet Turkish Airlines’ growing need for qualified pilots, Turkish Airlines Flight Academy has accelerated its quality and superior training approach by adding new aircraft, simulators, and other necessary resources to its fleet. We chose the AL172 simulator because its cockpit is an exact replica of the Cessna 172SP Skyhawk NAV III aircraft, and ALSIM offers proven and reliable FSTD models.”
ALSIM Sales Manager Leonardo Rodrigues added, “Instructors spend thousands of hours in simulators, so we know how important it is to provide them with comfort and ease of use. That’s why we have spent extensive hours perfecting our Instructor Station.”
Established to meet Turkish Airlines’ pilot requirements, TAFA operates with 40 training aircraft and numerous simulators, graduating approximately 300 students annually. The addition of these new simulators will further enhance the academy’s training capacity and quality.
