Turkish Airlines (THY) has announced its traffic results for the January–June period of 2025. According to the published figures, the company achieved significant operational growth in the first half of the year.
The total number of passengers increased by 3.9% to 42.2 million, while the number of international-to-international transfer passengers rose by 8.2% to 16.3 million. The passenger load factor increased by 0.6 percentage points compared to the same period last year, reaching 81.4%.
Strong Growth in International Flights
The growth achieved by Turkish Airlines on international routes reached remarkable levels:

Far East: 27.8 million passengers, up 11.8%

North America: 19.3 million passengers, up 7.8%

Africa: 8.7 million passengers, up 9.1%
Positive growth was recorded in all regions except for Central and South America.
The international passenger load factor reached 81.1%, with the Far East market leading at 85.4%.
Increase in Aircraft Fleet and Flight Destinations
Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of aircraft increased by 5.9% to 485, while seat capacity rose by 6.4% to 100,170. The number of destinations served grew from 349 to 353, indicating further network expansion.
Steady Rise in Cargo Transportation
In the first half of 2025, the total amount of cargo and mail carried increased by 3.2% year-on-year, approaching 1 million 20 thousand tonnes. The cargo segment saw notable growth, especially on North American and Far Eastern routes.
Stagnation in Domestic Passenger Numbers
A slight decline was observed in domestic passenger traffic. The number of domestic passengers dropped by 0.3% to 14.8 million, while the load factor remained stable at 84.6%.
