Passenger Flight Rights Between Turkey and Hong Kong Extended

A new era has begun in air transport between Turkey and Hong Kong. With the agreement signed between the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of Turkey and the Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong, passenger flight rights between the two sides have been expanded.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 15 September 2025, the airlines of both parties obtained the right to operate 14 weekly passenger flights. In addition, air carriers were granted the opportunity to operate with intermediate fifth freedom traffic rights.

The new agreement paves the way for a stronger presence of Turkish passenger and cargo carriers in the strategically important Hong Kong market. The parties also agreed to initiate a new round of negotiations in the coming months to update cargo transport rights.

This development will strengthen Turkey’s connections within the global air transport network, offering new opportunities in both passenger and cargo transportation.
