As part of its efforts to strengthen its air fleet, the General Directorate of Security will include 1 AKSUNGUR UAV, 1 ATAK helicopter and 1 T-70 into its inventory with a ceremony to be held on Monday.
The Aviation Department of the General Directorate of Security (EGM) continues to expand its fleet with domestically produced and national air vehicles. At the ceremony to be held, 1 AKSUNGUR unmanned aerial vehicle, 1 T129 ATAK attack helicopter and 1 T-70 Utility Helicopter will be officially put into service.
The new delivery will significantly strengthen both the operational capacity and technological infrastructure of the organisation.
Remarkable Increase in the Air Fleet
With the new delivery, EGM’s unmanned aerial vehicle capacity will also increase significantly. With the inclusion of AKSUNGUR, which can remain airborne for 48 hours and communicate via national satellite systems, the number of advanced UAVs within the organisation will reach 30.
Increase in Domestic Rate in the Helicopter Fleet
The ATAK and T-70 helicopters to be delivered within the scope of the ceremony will increase the effectiveness of the security organisation in air operations. At the same time, with these platforms added to those previously included in the inventory, it is aimed to increase the rate of domestically produced assets in the helicopter fleet.
Future Deliveries Planned
Within the scope of the projects carried out under the coordination of the Presidency of Defence Industries, it is planned that 18 T625 GÖKBEY helicopters and 2 AKSUNGUR UAVs will be added to the inventory in 2026 and 2027.
With the completion of these deliveries, it is anticipated that the domestic rate in the helicopter inventory of the EGM Aviation Department will reach 58 percent.
High-Level Participation Expected at the Ceremony
Mustafa Çiftçi, Haluk Görgün and Mehmet Demiroğlu are expected to attend the delivery ceremony.
