Swissport International has crowned its quality management systems with the ISO 9001 certification across its global operations. This certificate, awarded by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), covers Swissport’s worldwide operations at approximately 300 stations in 44 countries, confirming the company’s commitment to the highest quality standards.

LRQA presented this prestigious certification after successfully evaluating Swissport’s Quality Management System (QMS). The certification underscores Swissport’s adherence to international standards and its commitment to exceeding customer expectations through the high-quality services it provides to its airline customers and partners.
David Clark, Swissport’s Director of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment, commented on this achievement: “The ISO 9001 certification demonstrates that our processes are professionally managed and meet international standards. This certification will establish customer confidence and assures that we are applying industry-leading measures to maintain and enhance our service quality. It proves our dedication to continuous improvement in quality management practices.”
Scope and Impact
The ISO 9001 certification encompasses Swissport’s ground operations, including passenger services, baggage handling, aircraft and air cargo operations, fueling, and ASPIRE airport lounges. The certification confirms Swissport’s capability to consistently deliver high quality in baggage handling and passenger services, leading to increased punctuality and operational safety. It also enhances coordination between airports, boosting operational efficiency and reliability, and providing a better passenger experience.
To achieve this certification, Swissport underwent rigorous inspections and QMS audits conducted by LRQA at multiple locations worldwide. LRQA will perform annual surveillance audits on Swissport and recertify every three years.
