SunExpress Expands in Europe: Podgorica Flights Opened

Operating as a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, SunExpress has added Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, to its flight network. The direct services from İzmir and Antalya are aimed at boosting tourism and trade traffic between the two countries.

SunExpress continues to expand its European network for the 2026 summer season. The airline has introduced direct flights from İzmir and Antalya to Podgorica, making travel between Turkey and Montenegro faster and easier while also contributing significantly to the tourism sector.

The new route will create new opportunities for both Turkish holidaymakers and Montenegrin visitors while helping strengthen cultural and economic ties between the two countries.

İzmir–Podgorica Flights Have Started

As of June 12, SunExpress has begun operating two weekly round-trip flights between İzmir and Podgorica. The services, scheduled on Tuesdays and Fridays, will provide direct access from the Aegean Region to Montenegro.

The new route will also allow Montenegrin tourists to discover İzmir’s historical heritage, rich cuisine, and cultural attractions.

Antalya–Podgorica Route Launches on June 14

SunExpress’ direct flights between Antalya and Podgorica will begin on June 14. Operating on Tuesdays and Sundays, the services will provide a nonstop connection between Montenegro and Antalya, one of Turkey’s most important tourism destinations.

The new route is expected to increase tourist traffic between the two destinations, especially during the summer season.
