SunExpress, a joint venture of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, is expanding the “Aircraft Maintenance Technician Career Development and Support Programme”, which it launched last year in collaboration with Eskişehir Technical University, to include Kocaeli University and Cappadocia University this year. The programme aims to train qualified aircraft maintenance technicians for the aviation industry.
Within the scope of the programme, third-year students studying in the Aircraft Airframe and Engine Maintenance and Aviation Electrical and Electronics departments at Eskişehir Technical University, Kocaeli University and Cappadocia University will work at SunExpress as part-time employees and benefit from the same rights and advantages as all SunExpress staff. The students will complete their internships within the SunExpress Maintenance Organisation, gaining valuable experience in the sector. Successful participants will be offered full-time employment at SunExpress upon graduation. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to attend professional development training courses both in Turkey and abroad; in this context, they are planned to take part in a special training process at Lufthansa Technik in the future.
Commenting on the expansion of the programme, Dr Yasin Öztürk, SunExpress Director of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs, said:

This year, with the participation of Kocaeli and Cappadocia Universities, we are taking our programme even further. The opportunity we offer young people not only creates a sustainable structure that meets the needs of both today and the future, but also strengthens their career journeys; at the same time, it enriches the talent pool of the SunExpress family and contributes qualified professionals to the aviation industry.”
More than 60 students were admitted to the programme launched last year in cooperation with Eskişehir Technical University. This year, approximately 80 students from the three universities are expected to join the programme.
