Following social media reports alleging that Turkish Airlines (THY) had cancelled its flights to Iran and Syria, the Iran Civil Aviation Organization issued an official statement refuting the claims.
In a written statement by the agency’s spokesperson, it was confirmed that Turkish Airlines flights to Iran are operating as normal. The statement read: “Turkish Airlines flights to Iran are ongoing, and there has been no cancellation by the airline.”
Other Airlines Also Continue Flights
It was also noted that, in addition to Turkish Airlines, other foreign carriers continue to operate regular flights to Iran, and there have been no disruptions to civil aviation operations in the country.
Flight Cancellation Claims Circulated on Social Media
Earlier, social media posts claimed that Turkish Airlines had cancelled all flights to Iran and Syria until 31 July. However, the statement from Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization has proven these claims to be baseless.
While Turkish Airlines has yet to release an official statement on the matter, aviation authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
