A Singapore Airlines A350-900 passenger aircraft experienced severe turbulence on 27 June during its scheduled flight from Singapore to Shanghai.
While flying in Shanghai’s airspace, the aircraft suddenly encountered turbulence, causing significant shaking. One passenger was seriously injured as a result. The crew provided immediate first aid, and the flight continued as scheduled.
Authorities confirmed that the aircraft landed safely at its destination in Shanghai and reported no operational disruptions.
Investigation Launched:
An official investigation has been launched by the Singapore Airlines Aviation and Aerospace Institute (AAIB) regarding the incident. The inquiry will examine the intensity and causes of the turbulence, along with the flight safety procedures involved.
Officials stated that all data will be thoroughly reviewed to ensure the highest level of flight safety, and any elements that could pose a risk to passenger security will be carefully analysed.
