The “VSS Unity,” which took off from Spaceport America in New Mexico aboard a carrier aircraft, completed its 1 hour and 10-minute journey, returning to Earth at 18:40 Turkish local time (09:40 US time).

The vehicle reached an altitude of approximately 45,000 feet with the carrier aircraft before igniting its hybrid-fueled rocket motor and ascending to about 90 kilometers. During this phase, the crew conducted significant scientific research and experiments.

Tuva Cihangir Atasever, Turkey’s second astronaut after Alper Gezeravc, was aboard the “VSS Unity,” and with its successful landing, Atasever completed his suborbital research flight.
The crew, in which Atasever participated as a research astronaut, included two private astronauts from the USA and one from Italy. The “Galactic 07” team, consisting of a total of 6 people including 4 astronauts and 2 pilots, successfully accomplished their mission.
