AirAsia X to Launch Kuala Lumpur – Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Flights in Winter 2025
Malaysia-based long-haul low-cost airline AirAsia X is preparing to enter the Turkish market. The airline has announced plans to launch direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport starting from the 2025/26 winter season.
According to the schedule, the inaugural flight will take place on 14 November 2025. Services will be operated four times a week using wide-body Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
The new route aims to strengthen tourism and trade ties between Turkey and Southeast Asia. With its long-haul low-cost model, AirAsia X seeks to offer affordable travel options from the Asia-Pacific region to Istanbul.
Company officials highlighted that Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport’s role as a major transit hub between Asia and Europe gives the route significant strategic value.
