Swedish defense industry giant SAAB has announced that it will begin production in Ukraine to enhance the country’s defense capabilities. SAAB CEO Micael Johansson stated that they are taking this step to strengthen Ukraine’s independent defense capabilities. Johansson said, “We must support Ukraine in developing its sovereignty capacity. We will accelerate this process by collaborating with Ukrainian industry.”
Although no official agreement has been signed for local production yet, Johansson mentioned potential collaboration areas with Ukrainian companies in the production of drones and munitions. He also indicated that SAAB could support Ukraine in developing sensor technologies and supplying munitions components.
