A TUI flight departing Glasgow for Egypt’s popular tourist destination Sharm El-Sheikh was forced to change course shortly after takeoff due to a technical malfunction. Flight BY314 circled over the North Sea before being redirected to Manchester Airport.
According to Flightradar24 records, the plane took off from Glasgow at 15:45 and safely landed in Manchester at 16:52. The disruption was caused by a weather radar system failure.
TUI officials told Glasgow Live that the route change was a standard protocol and the problem was resolved within two hours. The aircraft took off again at 18:13, continuing on to Sharm El-Sheikh.
Flight BY314 arrived as scheduled in Egypt’s capital region around 01:00 the following morning. TUI’s swift response and the professionalism of the flight crew prioritized passenger safety, preventing a potential disruption.
