Pilot Fell Ill: AJet Flight from Istanbul Makes Emergency Return
An AJet Airlines flight, VF291, operating from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Saint Petersburg, returned to its departure airport after one of the pilots became unwell.
Emergency Return Decision in Romanian Airspace
The aircraft, which took off at 21:09 on Saturday, decided to return when one of the pilots suddenly fell ill after entering Romanian airspace. According to HavaSosyalMedya, thanks to the crew’s swift coordination, the aircraft landed safely in Istanbul at 23:39.
Medical Teams Standing By on the Runway
After landing, medical teams attended to the unwell pilot. Sources report that the pilot’s condition is currently good and there is no risk to life.
Flight Continued with a New Pilot
To ensure passenger safety, a new pilot was assigned for the continuation of the flight. AJet officials stated that the operational process proceeded without any issues.
