Pegasus Airlines Shifts Focus to Damascus After Baghdad!

Pegasus Airlines CEO Güliz Öztürk announced the company’s Middle East plans. If traffic rights are granted, Pegasus aims to launch flights to Damascus in 2026 and expand its network in the region.

Pegasus Airlines CEO Güliz Öztürk made important statements regarding the company’s Middle East strategy. Highlighting the region’s growth potential, Öztürk said they aim to increase the number of flights as much as bilateral air transport agreements allow.

Öztürk drew attention to the ongoing Northern Iraq and Baghdad flights, stating that they have long been preparing for Syria. She emphasized that, if the necessary traffic rights and frequency permits are granted, their priority will be to relaunch the Damascus route.

“After obtaining the required approvals, we plan to start flights to Damascus in 2026. Gradually expanding our Middle East network is among our company’s priorities,” said Öztürk, noting that Pegasus’s regional strategy is based on a phased growth model.
