NASA and Boeing are gearing up to launch the Starliner spacecraft on its first crewed test flight mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The flight test aims to evaluate the Starliner spacecraft and its subsystems, and it will transport NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams to the space station. Starliner is scheduled to dock with the Harmony module’s forward port of the ISS on May 8th.
On Monday, NASA and Boeing are preparing to launch a crewed test flight mission to the International Space Station. This mission marks the first crewed spaceflight of Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft under NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. The spacecraft is slated to lift off on Monday, May 6th, at 10:34 AM Eastern Time aboard a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
This flight test will transport NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams to the space station for approximately one week to conduct tests on the Starliner spacecraft and its subsystems. Subsequently, NASA will certify the transportation system for routine crewed missions to the orbiting laboratory as part of the Commercial Crew Program.
Starliner is planned to dock with the Harmony module’s forward port of the ISS at 12:48 PM Eastern Time on Wednesday, May 8th.
