With the codeshare agreement signed between Turkish Airlines and Montenegro’s national carrier Air Montenegro, the aim is to strengthen air connectivity between Türkiye and Montenegro and to offer passengers a wider range of connection options.
Turkish Airlines (THY), which holds the title of the airline flying to the most countries in the world and has been awarded “Europe’s Best Airline,” and Montenegro’s national carrier Air Montenegro have signed a codeshare agreement to strengthen air transportation between the two countries.
Within the scope of the agreement, Turkish Airlines will place its own flight code on Air Montenegro-operated Istanbul–Tivat and Istanbul–Podgorica flights, offering passengers more flexible and extensive travel alternatives through Istanbul’s strength as a global hub.
Air Montenegro, in addition to Turkish Airlines’ services between Türkiye and Montenegro, will place its own flight code on Istanbul-originating Baku and Dubai flights, providing passengers with access to more destinations and global connectivity opportunities.

Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi made the following remarks regarding the cooperation:
“Istanbul is not only one of the most important centres of global aviation, but also a strategic bridge connecting Europe and Asia. This cooperation will bring new momentum to air traffic between Türkiye and Montenegro, while also making significant contributions in terms of tourism and trade.”
Air Montenegro: “A step that strengthens international access”
Air Montenegro CEO Vukadin Stojanovic highlighted the importance of the agreement, stating:
“This codeshare cooperation we have established with Turkish Airlines represents an important step in strengthening Montenegro’s international access. By combining our regional flight network with Turkish Airlines’ global reach, we aim to offer our passengers more destinations, greater flexibility, and a higher-quality travel experience. At the same time, this cooperation will also contribute to the development of cultural and economic relations between the two countries.”
Expected to contribute to tourism and trade
This strategic cooperation between the two flag carrier airlines is expected to contribute to an increase in tourism and trade volume between Türkiye and Montenegro, while further strengthening Turkish Airlines’ global reach through one of Europe’s most comprehensive flight networks.
