Magnifica Air aims to bridge the gap between commercial business class and the private jet experience. The company is preparing to take to the skies in 2027 with Airbus A220 and A321 Neo jets equipped with luxury cabins by Comlux.
Next-Generation Luxury Flight Experience
The US-based new airline venture, Magnifica Air, plans to start operations in 2027.
The company will offer “commercial flights with private jet comfort” using Airbus A220 and A321 Neo aircraft with only 44 to 54 seats.
The luxury aircraft cabins will be designed by Swiss VIP outfitter Comlux, which announced that it will specially equip a total of six A220s and two A321 Neo aircraft for Magnifica Air.
Aircraft procurement is provided by leasing giant Air Lease Corporation (ALC). ALC will deliver four A220-300 and two A321-200 Neo aircraft to Magnifica Air’s fleet under a long-term lease agreement, with deliveries starting in 2027.
“No Business Class Compromises”
Magnifica Air positions itself between private jet services and commercial business class with its business model.
The company’s vision is to “make the private flight experience accessible.”
CEO Wade Black summarised the airline’s approach as follows:
“What people remember most in aviation is how you make them feel. We are bringing the private flight feeling to a level everyone can experience.”
The airline will offer passengers chauffeur-driven private terminal transfers, entry without security queues, and personal lounge areas.
Promoted under the motto “No crowded waiting lounges, no stress,” the concept aims to create a new category in the luxury travel segment.
Luxury Design: A Lounge Flying with 44 Seats
In Comlux-designed cabins:
A220 aircraft will have 54 seats,
A321 Neo aircraft will have 44 to 46 seats.
The front section of the A321 Neo will feature four private suites, while the rear section will have a lounge area.
Seats can convert into two-person flat beds, and the menu will offer gourmet meals and personalized services.
Sustainable Fuel Vision
Magnifica Air also emphasizes environmental responsibility.
Initially, aircraft will operate with 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF); by 2030, this ratio will reach 100% SAF.
The company aims to “offer passengers the best carbon footprint in aviation, allowing them to fly with peace of mind again.”
Fleet and Flight Network Plan
The initial fleet will consist of eight aircraft as of 2027.
CEO Wade Black revealed a goal to expand to 25 aircraft within the next four years.
Magnifica Air’s first flight network will cover the US’s leading business and leisure hubs:
New York, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Palm Beach, Los Angeles, and San Jose.
One-way ticket prices are expected to range from $20,000 to $25,000 (approximately €17,000 – €21,500).
Financing and Partnerships
The airline is positioned as the aviation venture of the luxury lifestyle brand Magnifica.
The project received an initial investment of $150 million from the private equity firm CIG Companies.
Additionally, leasing company Azorra will transfer two A220 aircraft previously operated by EgyptAir to Magnifica Air. One of these aircraft will be dismantled, while the other will be retrofitted and brought into service.
A New League in Luxury Aviation
Magnifica Air’s business model adopts the “premium low-seat commercial flight” concept, similar to boutique airlines such as JSX in the US and La Compagnie and Beond Airlines in Europe.
However, with Comlux’s design expertise, sustainable fuel vision, and ultra-premium service approach, Magnifica Air aims for a unique position within this segment.
