A passenger on an HK Express flight from Vietnam to Hong Kong caused a scene after demanding to sit next to her boyfriend. As the aircraft prepared for take-off, the argument escalated, and both the woman and her boyfriend were removed from the plane. Due to the incident, the flight was delayed by approximately 71 minutes.
Argument That Began in the Terminal Continued on the Plane
According to eyewitnesses, the incident began shortly before the Da Nang–Hong Kong flight was scheduled to depart. The couple started arguing in the terminal — the woman accused her boyfriend of being abusive, while the man claimed she had been unfaithful.
After boarding, the woman realised that their seats were not together and asked the cabin crew to change seats so she could sit beside her boyfriend. However, the crew informed her that seat arrangements could no longer be altered.
She Yelled at the Cabin Crew and Made Physical Contact
Following this response, the passenger began shouting and crying. Videos recorded by other passengers show the woman screaming, lunging toward the cabin crew, and staff members attempting to calm her down.
Witnesses reported that the woman physically touched the crew members twice. After briefly calming down, she asked,
“If I behave properly, can I stay on the plane?”
However, just minutes later, she lost her temper again and attacked one of the flight attendants.
As a result, both the woman and her boyfriend were removed from the aircraft.
Flight Delayed by 71 Minutes
Due to the incident, the flight’s departure was delayed, and the plane eventually took off about 1 hour and 10 minutes later. HK Express officials apologised to passengers for the delay and praised the cabin crew for their professional and calm handling of the situation.
Company representatives emphasised that behaviour endangering flight safety would not be tolerated.
Footage Goes Viral on Social Media
Footage of the incident quickly spread on social media. The videos show the woman shouting and walking through the cabin as flight attendants tried to calm her down. Commenters argued that “passengers who jeopardise flight safety should face consequences.”
