Milligram aircraft seats developed by TCI are entering AJet’s Airbus A321neo fleet. Weighing 9 kg, the seats stand out with their generous legroom and fuel-saving benefits.

The Milligram series, developed by Turkish cabin interior systems manufacturer TCI Aircraft Interiors (Türk Kabin İçi Sistemleri A.Ş.) and ranking among the world’s lightest aircraft seats with a weight of 9 kilograms, is entering a new phase within the AJet fleet. Following Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, Milligram seats are now set to be used on Airbus A321neo aircraft as well.

TCI has shared with the public the first photographs of the Milligram seats specially developed for the A321neo.

From Boeing 737 MAX to A321neo

Milligram seats first entered service in August 2025 on the TC-OHA registered Boeing 737 MAX aircraft delivered by Boeing to AJet Airlines. With the new integration, these seats will also be introduced to passengers on Airbus A321neo aircraft joining the AJet fleet.

Thanks to its slim design, Milligram offers greater perceived legroom, while its much lighter structure compared to competing products stands out. This feature provides airlines with significant annual fuel savings and increases operational efficiency.

Smart Design, High Comfort, Low Weight

In TCI’s official statement, Milligram seats are described as “a solution that brings together smart design, passenger comfort and operational efficiency”. The seat aims to redefine the balance between capacity and comfort, particularly on narrow-body aircraft.

Technical Features of Milligram Seats

Enhanced legroom perception:

A standard 28-inch (approximately 71 cm) seat pitch is increased to 31 inches (79 cm) thanks to Milligram’s ultra-slim structure. This additional space of around 8 centimetres significantly enhances passenger comfort.

Passenger-friendly innovative design:

Modern details such as an integrated tray table, cup holder and personal electronic device (PED) holder improve the passenger experience.

Simplified architecture:

By reducing the number of parts used in the seat, production time is shortened and maintenance processes are made easier.

Ultra-durable materials:

Thanks to carbon fibre and aluminium components, both low weight and a long service life are achieved.

EASA Certified, Approved for Narrow-Body Aircraft

Milligram seats hold EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) certification and are approved for narrow-body aircraft types such as the Airbus A321 and Boeing 737. Especially on the fuel-efficient A321neo platform, they aim to enhance airlines’ competitiveness.

TCI Aircraft Interiors has a broad product portfolio including economy and business class seats, as well as galleys, lavatories and IFEC (in-flight entertainment and connectivity) systems. Milligram stands out as one of the lightest and most innovative solutions within this portfolio.
