With the agreement signed between Iğdır University and KEYVAN Aviation, an Aviation Data Center will be established in Iğdır. The project aims at regional development, youth employment, and data-driven transformation in aviation.
First Signatures Signed for the Aviation Data Center
As part of the strategic cooperation carried out between Iğdır University and KEYVAN Aviation, official signatures have been signed for the Aviation Data Center planned to be established in the city. The agreement, which quickly turned into a concrete project following meetings held in Iğdır, is considered a critical step in terms of the region’s vision for technology and data infrastructure.
The signing ceremony was held with the participation of Iğdır Member of Parliament Cantürk Alagöz, Iğdır University Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Gürel, and KEYVAN Aviation Chairman of the Board and CEO Mehmet Keyvan.
A New Era in Regional Development: Technology and Data-Oriented Structuring
Within the scope of the project, in addition to the establishment of an aviation data center in Iğdır, comprehensive activities will be carried out in the fields of data-driven technologies and aviation data production.
Beyond being an investment step, the signed agreement will also serve as an indicator of a long-term development vision shaped around data infrastructures, advanced technology, and high value-added production.
Emphasis on Youth Employment and Qualified Human Resources
With the project, it is aimed to employ young graduates especially from software and aviation fields. While it is intended to utilise the qualified human resources in the region locally, it is also planned to increase Iğdır’s capacity to generate value both regionally and on a European scale.
The Aviation Data Center to be established is also expected to support the infrastructure to be used in the audit processes of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). In this respect, the centre will take on a strategic position as Turkey’s second aviation data center.
Alagöz: “We Are Transforming Iğdır into a Technology Hub”
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Iğdır Member of Parliament Cantürk Alagöz stated that the project represents a strategic transformation for the region.
Alagöz said, “This signature marks the beginning of a new era in which Iğdır meets high technology. Our priority is to ensure that our young people gain access to qualified job opportunities in their hometowns. Through university and private sector cooperation, we aim to transform Iğdır into a technology centre with a voice on an international scale.”
Rector Gürel: “University-Industry Integration is Strengthening”
Iğdır University Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Gürel emphasised that the cooperation is a strong example of university-industry integration.
Gürel stated, “With the centre to be established within Serhat Technopark, academic production will be supported while practical training and employment opportunities will be created for our students. This project will transform Iğdır into an innovation hub.”
KEYVAN Aviation: “This is a Transformation Project”
KEYVAN Aviation CEO Mehmet Keyvan also stated that the cooperation is not merely the establishment of a centre, adding that they consider the process as a strategic transformation.
Keyvan said, “We see this project as part of a major transformation that increases the region’s technological capacity, supports youth employment, and develops data-driven human resources.”
