Passenger Flight from Antalya to Manchester Returns Due to Smoke from Landing Gear

A Boeing 737-800 operated by Jet2, which had taken off from Fraport TAV Antalya Airport bound for Manchester, was forced to return shortly after departure due to smoke detected from its landing gear.

Pilot Initiates Emergency Procedure

Shortly after take-off, the cockpit crew detected smoke from the landing gear. Prioritising passenger safety, the captain initiated emergency procedures and decided to return to Antalya Airport.

Emergency Response on Standby at Airport

In anticipation of potential risks, airport fire and emergency response teams were positioned on the runway. The aircraft landed safely and taxied to its designated parking stand.
