Istanbul Airport, Türkiye’s gateway to the world, celebrates its 7th anniversary with record-breaking achievements. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated in a post on his social media account that in the 102nd year of the Republic, Istanbul Airport has become one of the most important hubs in global aviation.
Minister Uraloğlu said in his statement:
- “Istanbul Airport is 7 years old.
- In the 102nd year of our Republic, Türkiye continues to strengthen with its gateway to the world.
- We have hosted a total of 402,937,350 passengers in 7 years,
- and successfully managed 2,695,738 aircraft movements.”
- Surpassed Europe’s Capital Airports
According to data covering the period of 13–19 October 2025, Istanbul Airport ranked first, surpassing Europe’s capital airports with an average of 1,556 daily flights.
Minister Uraloğlu highlighted Türkiye’s vision in aviation by stating, “By implementing the simultaneous triple independent runway operation, we have set a new standard in international aviation.”
