LOT Polish Airlines has launched the Gdansk route to Istanbul Airport. After Warsaw and Krakow, Gdansk becomes the third Polish destination, with four flights per week.

Gdansk–Istanbul Flights Officially Launched

A Boeing 737-800 aircraft operated by LOT Polish Airlines, tail-registered SP-LYA, departed from Lech Wałęsa Airport in Gdansk, Poland, at 18:00 and landed at Istanbul Airport at approximately 22:10 with 97 passengers on board.

As part of the inaugural flight, passengers and the flight crew arriving at Istanbul Airport were welcomed with flowers at Gate C2 by İGA and ground handling teams. The welcoming ceremony was regarded as the beginning of a new era in air transport between the two countries.

Four Weekly Flights

It has been learned that LOT Polish Airlines will operate reciprocal flights on the Gdansk–Istanbul route with four weekly frequencies. With the new route, the number of LOT’s Polish destinations at Istanbul Airport has increased to three: Warsaw, Krakow, and Gdansk.

The new flights are expected to make a significant contribution to tourism, trade, and transfer passenger traffic between Turkey and Poland.
