İGA Istanbul Airport has qualified for the ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System certification, one of the world’s most respected management standards, within the scope of “airport and terminal operations.” With this certification, the airport’s operational resilience, crisis management capability, and capacity to provide uninterrupted services have been officially verified on an international scale.
ISO 22301 is recognized as one of the most critical standards ensuring the sustainability of services in the face of potential disruptions, emergencies, natural disasters, and crisis scenarios. The certification brings significant prestige to İGA in terms of uninterrupted passenger experience, reliability of flight operations, and continuity of infrastructure management.
APOC Played a Strategic Role in the Certification Process
Operating 24/7, the İGA Operations Control Centre (APOC) played a decisive role in the most critical phases of the certification process. Equipped with advanced technological infrastructure, the centre is at the heart of all operations, from managing daily flight operations to rapid, coordinated decision-making during crises.
APOC’s high preparedness against adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, and operational disruptions stands out as one of the fundamental pillars of İGA Istanbul Airport’s business continuity capability.

“This achievement is the result of a company-wide vision”
İGA Istanbul Airport Quality Systems Director İnanç Yapar highlighted the strategic importance of the certification for the organization:
“This significant achievement confirms that İGA Istanbul Airport has the capacity to sustain its operations at the highest international standards in the face of potential disruptions, emergencies, and crisis scenarios. Our proactive approach to business continuity plays a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted passenger traffic, flight operations, infrastructure management, and service processes, as well as operational reliability, meeting stakeholder expectations, and strengthening corporate resilience.”
Yapar continued:
“This success is the product of teamwork and our corporate vision. At İGA, we will continue to continuously improve all our processes in alignment with international standards, build a safer and uninterrupted aviation ecosystem, and develop pioneering practices in operational excellence.”
