The Air Traffic Controllers and Other Transportation Workers Union, HTK-SEN, criticized the harsh statements made by some union formations regarding the recent regulation concerning air traffic controllers.
In the statement made by HTK-SEN, the following expressions were used:
We have followed with astonishment the anger and envy-filled unfortunate statements made by some union formations recently regarding a legal regulation concerning our air traffic controllers, who are a unit serving in the service branch they represent. These entities, ignorant of the basic philosophy of unionism, which is “respect for labor and gains,” once again confirmed their systematic hostility towards our air traffic controllers by singling out a single professional group in a regulation affecting multiple professional groups.
The endorsement of this hostility by other unions within the institution has made the internal mental division even more apparent. It is clear that these entities, which have a mentality that can even equate a completely legal union activity with threat, need to take a comprehensive lesson in unionism and legislation. Those who remained silent when, in the initial regulation made by the relevant institution in 2016, the cost of some professional groups including our air traffic controllers was completely covered by EUROCONTROL but deliberately left at the lowest rate, are nothing but hypocrites for expressing discomfort over a regulation that is merely a belated compensation for this injustice. Our advice to these entities, who do not hesitate to shamelessly attack the labor and gains of others to cover up their own incompetence and who consider unionism as nothing more than visiting offices and taking photos, is to stop dealing with the gains of other unions and to focus their energy on correcting their losses such as clothing aid, etc.
On this occasion, we thank our Minister and all relevant authorities for taking this step towards compensating for the unjust regulation that has been ongoing for years regarding our air traffic controllers, and we hope that the regulations addressing our primary demands will be implemented as soon as possible.
Respectfully announced to our members and the public.
