Corendon Airlines is starting its first Germany-originated long-haul operation. Direct flights between Düsseldorf and Curaçao will commence on December 14, 2026. The Caribbean island will now be only 9.5 hours away from Düsseldorf, one of Europe’s major aviation hubs.
Continuing to strengthen its presence in the German market as part of its international growth strategy, Corendon Airlines announced that it will begin direct flights between Düsseldorf Airport and Curaçao, one of the Caribbean’s most popular destinations, as of December 14, 2026. With this move, the airline aims to achieve a significant milestone by launching its first long-haul operation departing from Germany.

The flights, scheduled as part of the 2026–2027 winter season, will operate three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. With direct flights lasting approximately 9.5 hours, Curaçao will become far more accessible for holidaymakers from Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
Commenting on the new route, Corendon Airlines Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Paul Schwaiger said: “The Düsseldorf–Curaçao route represents the beginning of a new era in Corendon Airlines’ growth journey. As an airline that has served Europe’s leading holiday destinations for many years, we are excited to operate our first long-haul service departing from Germany. While offering our guests more travel options in the German market, where we continue to see strong demand, we also aim to contribute to Curaçao’s international visibility.”

Comfortable Travel Experience with Three Different Service Classes
The new route will be operated with a leased Airbus A330-300 wide-body aircraft. Passengers will be able to choose from three different cabin options designed to meet varying travel needs:
- Business Class: 30 seats
- Economy Plus: 16 seats
- Economy Class: 239 seats
Breakfast, snacks, coffee, and tea will be offered free of charge in all cabin classes. Passengers will also be able to enjoy additional food and beverage options from the Air Bistro menu throughout the flight.
A Caribbean Island Offering Summer Weather All Year Round
Located near the coast of Venezuela and forming part of the ABC Islands together with Aruba and Bonaire, Curaçao offers a sunny holiday experience throughout the year with an average temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. Known for its white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, colorful architecture, and rich cultural heritage, the island has become one of the most preferred Caribbean destinations among European holidaymakers in recent years.
Martin de Boer, Commercial Director of Corendon Hotels, also commented on the potential of the new destination: “Curaçao has long been one of the most popular long-haul destinations among our guests. We are also witnessing a growing demand for holidays departing from Germany every year. Thanks to our direct flights from Düsseldorf, we will make Curaçao more accessible for German, Dutch, and Belgian holidaymakers while increasing the destination’s visibility in a market with strong growth potential.”
