Grupo Pueblo Bonito Opens First Urban Hotel in Mexico

Grupo Pueblo Bonito has opened its first property in Mexico’s Bajio region—and its first urban, European Plan hotel—with the debut of Pueblo Bonito Vantage San Miguel de Allende. The $70 million development brings 111 guestrooms to San Miguel de Allende, a UNESCO World Heritage Site positioned equidistant from Guadalajara and Mexico City.

“It is an honor to introduce Pueblo Bonito Vantage in a city as iconic as San Miguel de Allende. This project represents the culmination of experience, passion and respect for our cultural roots,” said Letty Coppel, co-founder of Grupo Pueblo Bonito, in a press statement.

A First for Grupo Pueblo Bonito

The hotel’s hacienda-style buildings draw from the colonial city’s Spanish Baroque character. Guestrooms are decorated with hand-crafted furniture and textiles, and each includes a private terrace overlooking either the city’s historic district or the property’s gardens. Contemporary Mexican design runs throughout, paired with high-tech amenities.

The property’s experiences program covers gastronomy, culture, history and lifestyle, offering guests a way to connect with the city beyond its architecture. The Aromatika Spa & Wellness adds a wellness dimension, with treatments rooted in traditional wine therapy and local ingredients.

Dining includes several formats: Casa Bistro provides an all-day casual menu, LaFrida focuses on dinner service with views, and the V Rooftop Bar serves tapas alongside panoramic views of San Miguel’s skyline. ElCorazon and a Lobby Bar round out the food-and-beverage program.

The project has generated 200 direct jobs and more than 1,200 indirect positions in Guanajuato state, benefiting local suppliers, contractors and service providers across the region.
