The cracks were identified during a morning inspection conducted by teams from the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ). To avoid compromising passenger safety, officials acted swiftly and decided to suspend flight operations temporarily.
5 Aircraft Diverted to Other Airports
Due to the situation, five aircraft approaching Dalaman for landing were urgently redirected to Bodrum and Antalya airports. This prompt response ensured safety for both aircraft and passengers without putting anyone at risk.
Runway Repaired, Air Traffic Resumed
Following intense efforts by DHMİ technical teams, the cracks on the runway were repaired in a short time. As of 11:30 a.m., air traffic returned to normal and Dalaman Airport resumed arrivals and departures.

In a statement from airport officials, it was emphasised that the measure was a precautionary step taken to ensure passenger safety. Authorities also noted that routine inspections will continue to be conducted with utmost diligence to prevent similar incidents.
