The black boxes of the Falcon 50-type aircraft that crashed in Ankara on 23 December will be sent to the United Kingdom in order to clarify the cause of the accident.
It was announced that the black boxes of the Falcon 50-type aircraft, which crashed in Ankara on 23 December while carrying a Libyan military delegation, will be analysed in the United Kingdom as part of the technical investigation into the crash.
In the accident, a total of eight people lost their lives, including Libyan Chief of the General Staff Mohammed al-Haddad, four military personnel and three crew members. The incident caused a major public reaction in both Libya and Türkiye.
It had initially been announced that the black boxes recovered from the crash site would be examined in Germany. However, Libyan Government of National Unity Minister of Transport Mohammed al-Shahoubi stated at a press conference held in Tripoli that the process had changed.
In his statement, Shahoubi said, “We have established direct coordination with the United Kingdom for the analysis of the black box.”
In line with the decision taken, the black boxes will be sent to the United Kingdom. Through the technical examinations to be carried out, it is aimed to eliminate the question marks regarding the exact cause of the accident and to prepare the official report.
