The international departure fee increased by 25% to 1,250 TL in 2026. Passport fees and the IMEI registration fee have also risen. Here are the updated charges.

As of 2026, a new increase has been introduced in the fee applied to departures abroad. With a 25% rise enacted by Presidential decision, the international departure fee has been set at 1,250 TL, effective from 1 January 2026.

The international departure fee had been increased to 710 TL at the beginning of 2025, and then raised by 40.8% to 1,000 TL in September of the same year. With the latest increase, the total rise in the fee amount within a single year has reached notable levels.

Who Is Exempt from the International Departure Fee?

According to the legislation, certain groups are exempt from paying the international departure fee. Those who will not be required to pay the fee are listed as follows:

  • Those who hold a residence permit abroad as of the date of departure
  • Children under the age of 7
  • Those travelling abroad with pasavan and similar documents
  • Those departing for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) using an identity card
  • Crew members of road, sea, air and railway vehicles operating international routes for commercial purposes

Passport Fees Also Increased for 2026

According to the communiqué published in the Official Gazette, increases have also been made to various official document and fee amounts for 2026. Accordingly:

  • Notary paper and declaration fee: 149 TL
  • Protest, power of attorney, ex officio promissory note fee: 298 TL
  • Passport booklet fee: 1,351 TL
  • Residence permit fee: 964 TL

2025–2026 Passport Fee Comparison:

  • 6-month passport: 2,359.4 TL → 2,960 TL
  • 1-year passport: 3,449.4 TL → 4,328 TL
  • 2-year passport: 5,631.4 TL → 7,066 TL
  • 3-year passport: 8,000 TL → 10,039 TL
  • 3 years and over: 11,274 TL → 14,147 TL

IMEI Registration Fee Exceeded 54,000 TL

Within the scope of the regulation, the IMEI registration fee was also increased as of 1 January 2026. The IMEI registration fee for mobile phones brought from abroad accompanied by passengers has been set at 54,258 TL.

The new fees entered into force as of 2026, together with the international departure fee.
