Fake News Statement from Turkish Airlines: Legal action will be initiated

Turkish Airlines (THY) Press Advisor Yahya Üstün shared important information on social media regarding certain news articles. Üstün stated that legal action would be taken against deliberately disseminated false news aimed at damaging THY’s brand reputation by misinforming the public.

In recent days, there have been allegations in some digital media that the cockpit of a THY passenger plane was left completely empty for a while. Upon the rapid spread of these reports, THY officials felt the need to make a statement on the issue.

In his statement on social media, Yahya Üstün said:

“The claim in some digital media that the cockpit of one of our passenger aircraft was left completely empty for a while does not reflect the truth. Such an incident has not occurred.”

“We want to inform the public that we will exercise our legal rights regarding this false news, which is deliberately served to misinform the public and damage our brand reputation.”

Üstün emphasized the importance Turkish Airlines places on flight safety and operations, noting that it is impossible for critical procedures like cockpit security and the requirement for pilots to be on duty during flights to be violated.
