Istanbul Airport became the busiest airport in Europe from May 13-19, with an average of 1,434 flights per day. According to the “European Aviation Report” published by the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), Istanbul Airport led aviation traffic during this period.
Ranking of the Busiest Airports
Following Istanbul Airport, the busiest airports according to the EUROCONTROL report were:
- Amsterdam Schiphol Airport: Average of 1,412 flights per day
- London Heathrow Airport: Average of 1,326 flights per day
