The European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) has published its “European Aviation Report” for the period of 15–21 September. According to the report, Istanbul Airport ranked as Europe’s busiest airport with a daily average of 1,599 flights.

EUROCONTROL data once again highlighted Istanbul Airport as the continent’s most important air transport hub. Hosting a daily average of 1,599 flights during the given dates, Istanbul has become a strategic base in aviation both regionally and globally.
Europe’s Top Five Busiest Airports
Following Istanbul, the busiest airports in Europe were listed as follows:
- Frankfurt Airport – 1,407 flights
- Amsterdam Schiphol – 1,405 flights
- Paris Charles de Gaulle – 1,374 flights
- London Heathrow – 1,335 flights
This ranking shows that Istanbul Airport has maintained its clear leadership position in Europe, surpassing its competitors by a wide margin.
