Turkey’s Ambassador to Ankara, Tom Barrack, announced that Turkish Airlines (THY) has signed a multibillion-dollar strategic agreement with US-based aviation giant Boeing for more than 200 passenger aircraft. The deal stands out as a significant step to strengthen Turkey’s position in the global aviation industry.
US Ambassador to Ankara Barrack confirmed the agreement, stating that the delivery process would begin shortly. Covering more than 200 passenger aircraft, this deal will boost Turkey’s aviation capacity and reinforce THY’s leadership in international competition.
Ambassador Barrack made the following statement regarding the agreement:
“Everyone will be surprised at how harmonious and cooperative we are with each other.”
US-Turkey Cooperation and Legal Processes
Barrack emphasised the critical importance of the CAATSA and NDAA laws passed by the US Congress in the implementation of the agreement. He noted that cooperation between the President and Congress would ensure the process runs smoothly.
A New Era in F-35 Deliveries
The Ambassador also stated that the issue of delivering F-35 fighter jets to Turkey could be resolved by the end of the year, signalling that defence industry cooperation between the two countries would gain momentum.

This landmark agreement between Turkish Airlines and Boeing will accelerate fleet modernisation and place Turkey in a stronger position on the international aviation stage. At the same time, it is regarded as a tangible indicator of strategic cooperation in Turkey-US relations.
