One of the world’s largest international airlines, Emirates, has entered into a new codeshare partnership with Avianca, one of Latin America’s leading carriers. This partnership will provide seamless connectivity on select routes for Emirates and Avianca customers, enhancing their travel experience.
Expanded Connectivity Through New Codeshare Partnership
As part of the new codeshare agreement, Emirates customers flying via Madrid, Barcelona, or London Heathrow will have direct access to three destinations in Colombia. The codeshare flights include:
- Madrid: Bogota, Medellin, and Cali
- Barcelona: Bogota
- London Heathrow: Bogota
Tickets can be booked through the Emirates and Avianca websites, mobile apps, call centers, or travel agents. The codeshare flights will commence on June 4th.
Avianca will add its code to Emirates flights between Barcelona, Madrid, or London Heathrow and Dubai. This will allow Avianca customers to travel on Emirates’ wide-body aircraft, enjoying premium meals, lie-flat seats, and Emirates’ award-winning in-flight entertainment system.
Customer Benefits
Customers of both airlines will benefit from seamless route booking on a single ticket, competitive fares, and a unified baggage policy checked through to the final destination. Emirates Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim expressed satisfaction with the partnership, stating, “We are pleased to enter into a codeshare agreement with Avianca, Colombia’s largest airline, to provide seamless connections on select routes for customers of both airlines. This agreement will expand our reach and enable our customers to fly to additional popular destinations in Colombia.”
Avianca’s Chief Revenue Officer, Claudio Vélez, commented, “We are delighted to launch this codeshare agreement with Emirates, reaffirming our commitment to new destinations and attracting more passengers to Latin America. This collaboration will bring our region closer to Dubai via Europe and strengthen Avianca’s operations in Barcelona, Madrid, and London Heathrow.”
New Destinations and Services
This partnership will allow Avianca to transport more passengers from Europe and Dubai to Latin America while providing Emirates customers with seamless access to new destinations in Colombia. This collaboration between the two airlines aims to offer more value-added benefits in the future.
