The E-7T Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft, assigned to the Turkish Air Force Command, carried out a mission flight within the scope of NATO Assurance Measures in Romanian airspace.
Taking off from the 3rd Main Jet Base Command in Konya, the E-7T AEW&C aircraft successfully completed its mission flight within NATO airspace (over Romania) on 20 October 2025, as part of NATO Assurance Measures.
A statement regarding the mission was shared by the Ministry of National Defence (MoND) through its social media accounts. The Ministry’s statement included the following remarks:
“Between 21–23 October 2025, our E-7T Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft will carry out a ground standby mission and deploy to Siauliai Air Base in Lithuania. Along with the flight crew, operations, maintenance, and support personnel will also take part in the mission.”
Additionally, the MoND shared the following note:
“As part of NATO Assurance Measures, a mission was planned in NATO airspace (over Romania) along the return route of our AEW&C aircraft from Lithuania to Konya.”
Continuing Contribution Within the Scope of NATO Assurance Measures
The Turkish Air Force continues to actively contribute to activities aimed at ensuring the security of NATO allies and the protection of NATO airspace. Within this scope, AEW&C missions provide airspace surveillance, early warning, and air command and control support, thereby strengthening the Alliance’s deterrence capability.
