World’s First AI-Powered Passenger Corridor Launched at Dubai International Airport

Dubai International Airport (DXB) has taken a groundbreaking step in travel by launching the world’s first artificial intelligence-powered passenger corridor. Dubbed the “Red Carpet”, this innovative system enables passengers to pass through passport control in seconds—without stopping or presenting their documents.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, described the launch as “a major leap in the world of smart travel”, emphasising that the system not only boosts operational efficiency but also redefines the overall travel experience.

The AI-powered system verifies passenger data in advance, using biometric technologies such as facial recognition for identity checks while directing suspicious cases to manual inspection. This allows multiple passengers to be processed simultaneously, reduces waiting times, and minimises congestion at the airport.
