IGA Istanbul Airport, regarded as one of the aviation hubs with the highest global connectivity in the world, has once again been awarded the “Airport of the Year” title by the Air Transport Awards. During its eight years of operation, the airport has won this prestigious award for the sixth time, confirming its consistent performance in operational efficiency and service quality on the international stage.
ATN Individual Award for CEO Selahattin Bilgen
The sustainable growth vision and strong operational performance of IGA Istanbul Airport have also brought a significant individual award to the company’s CEO, Selahattin Bilgen. Bilgen was deemed worthy of the “ATN Individual Award” for his leadership and contributions to the aviation industry.
Award Ceremony Held in Greece
The Air Transport Awards ceremony, which honours institutions, organisations, and leaders shaping the aviation industry, was held on March 13, 2026, in the Ekali region of Greece. The awards were presented during the event organised in cooperation with Hermes – Air Transport Organization, Air Transport News (ATN), and America Latina Aeronoticias (ALA).
The results were determined through the votes of thousands of industry stakeholders under the guidance of a selection committee composed of representatives from the Airports Council International (ACI), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

In the evaluations, criteria such as operational efficiency, passenger experience, and sustainability were taken into consideration, while it was once again emphasised that IGA Istanbul Airport represents a significant reference point in the global aviation industry.
