Delta Air Lines has announced that flight 5087, operated by Endeavor Air, experienced an incident during its approach to Des Moines International Airport from Detroit. The event occurred around 9:30 PM local time when the aircraft skidded off the asphalt surface of the taxiway due to icy conditions during landing.
According to Delta’s statement, no injuries were reported in the incident. Passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft and directed to the terminal by bus.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has begun an investigation at the site to determine the causes of the incident. Delta Air Lines acted swiftly to ensure the safety of all passengers in line with safety protocols.
In a statement regarding the disruption, Delta Air Lines said, “Delta teams at Des Moines International Airport are working to ensure the safety of our customers after flight 5087, operated by Endeavor Air as part of Delta Connection, skidded off the taxiway due to icy conditions during landing. Safety comes first, and we apologize to our customers for this experience.”
