HİSAR-A, operating within Türkiye’s Integrated Air Defence System ÇELİKKUBBE, achieved a significant success by hitting its target with full accuracy using an imaging infrared (IIR) seeker-head missile during an acceptance firing conducted with serial production systems.
The President of the Defence Industry Agency, Haluk Görgün, shared the latest development in the Turkish defence industry’s air defence field with the public. Görgün announced that the HİSAR-A system, which forms part of ÇELİKKUBBE’s layered air defence architecture, successfully completed its acceptance firing using components produced on the serial production line.
According to the statement, the high-speed target detected and tracked by the Fire Control Unit was engaged via the Missile Launching System (MLS). It was reported that the target was successfully neutralised during the engagement carried out with the IIR seeker-head HİSAR-A missile.
“Ready for Duty”
Emphasising that, with this critical firing, the serial production batch consisting of the new-generation HİSAR MLS configuration and seeker-head HİSAR-A missiles has become ready for duty, Görgün drew attention to the system’s strategic role in low-altitude air defence.
Görgün stated:
“With its advanced sensor, guidance and engagement capabilities, HİSAR-A continues to be one of the fundamental elements that form the backbone of our low-altitude air defence and strengthen ÇELİKKUBBE’s deterrence in the field.”
